Brimley JVs Claim EUPC Track Meet

PICKFORD - Josh Rhue earned a pair of wins for the Brimley Bays in Tuesday's EUPC freshman and sophomore track and field meet.

The Bays won with 76 points, while Cedarville was second with 70.5. Pickford was third with 49 and DeTour was fourth with 47.5.

Rhue won the 100 (12.05) and the 200 (24.78). Brimley also got wins from Justin Derusha in the 400 (38.6). The Bays also got wins in the 400 relay (49.86), the 800 relay (1:43.92), and the 3200 relay (9:37.16).

The Trojans got wins from Jason Marble in the discus (83-4), Matt Duncan in the shot put (36-1), and David Sanderson in the pole vault (8-0). The Trojans also got a win in the 1600 relay (4:01.41).

Pickford got a pair of wins from Josh Schwab and Brad Hunter in the meet. Schwab won the 110 hurdles (17.52), and the 300 hurdles (45.96), while Hunter won the 1600 (5:05.66), and the 800 (2:26.71). Andrew Barry also won the 3200 (12:40.46).

Mike Burton earned DeTour's only two wins of the day, taking the high jump (5-5), and the long jump (16-6.5).

In the girl's meet, Brimley squeaked past Pickford, winning the meet 86-84. Cedarville finished with 46 points, and DeTour was fourth with nine.

Emily Ermatinger led the Bays, winning three events. She took the 100 (14.48), the 200 (30.74), and the long jump (12-10.5). Dana Case won a pair of events as well for the Bays. Case took the 100 hurdles (18.69), and the high jump (4-10). The Bays also got wins in the 800 relay (2:10.57), and the 400 relay (60.72).

The Panthers got two wins each from Rosanna Chapman and Peggy Keiper. Chapman won the 1600 (6:12.62), and the 800 (2:47.28). Keiper won the discus (90-35), and the shot put (29-10). The Panthers also got wins from Tiffany Campbell in the 400 (1:16.08), Jocelyn Sawasky in the 3200 (16:54.29), and Robyn Ruddy in the pole vault (5-6). The Panther relay teams won the 3200 relay (11:54.96) and the 1600 relay (4:56.80).

Caroline Cochran got the only win for the Cedarville Trojans, taking the 300 hurdles (54.62).
