First of all I would like to acknowledge the hard work and timeless dedication of Dennis Stortini (past President) and his executive Margaret Meinke and Grady Hess for all that they have done during their tenure as the executive of the Sault Stryders. I look forward to working with Marg and Grady over the next year.
I completed my first marathon last year at the age of 44. I live in Sault Ste. Marie with my wife, Susan and two daughters.
Current Life Focus
Training for my second marathon. As a Type II Diabetic I would like to make people more aware of the complications of the disease and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle whether it is running or a walk around the block.
I try to keep my running to every second day with light weights in between. My running distances are measured by my work schedule. I am a police officer, so time is a precious commodity.
The Great Lakes ½ marathon because it is a hometown event and the people are great. The Canadian International Marathon is a close second because it was a race that was part of a personal goal for my running partner and me.
I look forward to the upcoming year and its events. Please feel free to contact me with suggestions and or comments. There is an old saying, "you only get out of it, what you put into it".
