St. Paul dominates, new records set by Bullock, Proulx at meet

St. Paul proved to be the class of the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board track meet Tuesday in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Sault elementary school captured three awards including the Physical Education Consultants' Trophy, Mount St. Joseph College Trophy and St. Mary's College Trophy.

The Consultants' Trophy is awarded for the highest total points for boys and girls in all divisions. Sister Mary Clare finished second, followed by St. Theresa.

The Mount trophy is awarded for the highest total points for girls in all divisions while the St. Mary's College Trophy is awarded for the highest points for boys in all divisions.

St. Theresa was the winner in the Pee Wee Division when all the points for boys and girls were tallied, while Sister Mary Clare was the Bantam Division champ after all of the points where compiled.

Individually, the meet witnessed two new records being established.

Sarah Bullock, of Sister Mary Clare, cleared 1.62 metres in the Bantam Girls high jump to set a new standard while Adam Proulx, of St. Mark, established a new mark in the atom Boys' 50-metre race when he was clocked in 7.02 seconds.
