2002 Marathon Rankings (as of Jan 31, 2003)
Celia Moore is ranked 45th Canadian female marathoner for 2002 by the Marathon Canada web site based upon her 3:04: 55 finish at the Canadian International Marathon in Toronto on Oct 20. She is also ranked 9th in the female 20-29 category.
Karen Cowling, from the Sudbury area, is ranked 19th based on her 2:56:14 finish in the same race and 8th in the 30-39 category.
Lioudmila Kortchaguina, from Toronto, is ranked first female with a time of 2:33:13 in the National Capital Marathon in Ottawa. In the men's ranking, Stan Trudeau, formerly from Sault Ste Marie now living in Toronto, is ranked 50th based upon his 2:39:35 at The Boston Marathon.
Bruce Deacon, Victoria, is ranked first male with a time of 2:13:21 set in the California International Marathon in Los Angeles.

All Time Marathon Rankings
Rob Kinnunen is ranked 31st on the All Time Rankings List for the marathon with a time of 2:17:25 set in Omaha, Nebraska on November 6, 1982 where he placed first. Kinnunen (b. 1956) formerly from Sault Ste. Marie is now living in Vermillion, SD, and is the men's and women's cross country coach at the University of South Dakota.
First on the All Time Rankings List is Jerome Drayton (b. 1945) with a time of 2:10:09 set at the Fukuoka Marathon in Japan on Dec 6, 1975. The first female is Carey Edge (b. 1959, nee May) with a time of 2:28:07 set in Osaka Japan on Jan 15, 1985.
