Panthers cruise at Engadine meet
ENGADINE -- The Pickford Panthers cruised to first place at the Engadine Invitational Tuesday.
Pickford won the girls meet with 160 points. Brimley was second with 113 and Cedarville was third with 71. They were followed by Engadine 56, DeTour 50, Mackinac Island 36 and Paradise 0. Results from the boys meet were not available at press time.
Megan Hunter and Peggy Keiper were both individual event winners for the Panthers. Hunter won the 200 (29.36) and 400 (1:06.48) while Keiper won the shot put (32-7.75) and discus (97-3). Other event-winners for the Panthers included Tiffany Campbell in the 800 (2:41.89), Cortnie Brown in the 3200 (14:01) and Lindsey Harrison in the long jump (12-6.5). Campbell, Hunter, Harrison and Stephanie Savoie won the 1600 relay (4:43.56).
Savoie, Lauren Waybrant, Harrison and Kristina Peffers won the 400 relay (57.23). Campbell, Savoie, Peffers and Hunter won the 800 relay.
Cedarville's Meredith Cochran won the 100 hurdles (17.24) and 300 hurdles (52.76).
Molly McIntyre of Brimley won the high jump (4-1).
Ashley King of Engadine won the 1600 (6:04.31). The Eagles also captured the 3200 relay (11.46.10).
