Blue Devils run at Falcon meet
WEST BRANCH -- The Sault High Blue Devil track team had a rough go of it in the Ogemaw Falcon Team Track Invitational over the weekend.
The Blue Devils recorded 379 points and finished seventh in the eight-team field. Petoskey nailed down the top spot with 695 points, while the host Falcons were second with 654. Gladwin took third with 502.5, and Alpena was fourth with 433.5. Hale placed fifth with 402, while Cheboygan was sixth with 382. Whittemore-Prescott brought up the rear with 147.
Marc McDonough earned the Sault's highest finishes of the day by taking third in both the high jump and the long jump. He also grabbed a fourth in the 220.
The Blue Devils also had several fifth-place finishes, including Kyle Sommers in the pole vault, Steve Hank in the 330 hurdles, and the 4x110 relay team which consisted of Sommers, Peter Galo, Mark Bisdorf, and Kyle Ward.
Andy Castagne finished seventh in the 120 hurdles.
