Sault girls win track meet
SAULT STE. MARIE -- The Sault girls track team took an 85-68 win over Petoskey in a Big North Conference dual meet on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sault won seven events at the meet, including two from Emily Bailey. Bailey won the 110 hurdles (18.77), and the high jump (4-8). Bobbi Kennedy won the 300 hurdles (52.6), and Betsy Deuman took the shot put (28-6.5).
Emily Browning finished first in the pole vault (9-0), and Christina Timchouk won the 1600 (6:48.40). The Blue Devils also won the 3200 relay (10:44.57).
Erica Green had a pair of second-place finishes for the Sault. She took second in both the 100 and 200, while Sagen May also took two seconds. She was the runner-up in the high jump and the 400.
In the boys meet, the Northmen took a decisive 108-54 win over the Blue Devils.
Tyler Gage and Marc McDonough were the only individual winners for the Sault. Gage won the 800 (2:10.44), and McDonough won the long jump (18-7).
The Blue Devils also picked up wins in the800 relay (1:34.77), the 1600 relay (3:58.6), and the 3200 relay (9:48.18).
