Celia Moore, 29, was the second female across the line with a personal best time of 3:13:55, over 4 minutes faster than her previous best set in the same race last year where she also placed second. The first female was Joan Cochrane, 42, from Saskatoon, in a time of 3:07:17. Moore placed 41 overall. The first male was Shihgirai Badza, age 28, from Zimbabwe and currently living in Burlington, Ontario who finished in 2:32:04.
A record entry of 10,261 runners enjoyed sunny and cool weather with low humidity in the 24th running of the Manitoba Marathon.
