Saturday

10 Km--8:00 a.m. Gratiot River North trails. Mixed birch and maple forest, pristine Lake Superior shoreline, journey through Taylor Creek Gorge, lowland cedar forest, meander along the Gratiot River, mix and single and double track trail.

Hill Climb--7:00 p.m. Eagle Harbor beach to Mt. Lookout summit, 5.8-km, 821 ft. vertical, emerge from the forest onto a juniper and wild blueberry bush covered saddle, climb to a panoramic summit. Swimming at beach & lasagna dinner at the Shoreline Café. Starts at 7:00 pm ,on the beach in Eagle Harbor.

The course follows the road for about a quarter of a mile and then turns left on to a two-track into the woods. The course climbs steadily, crossing a small stream. The trail narrows to a single track and becomes rocky and technical for a span. Runners reach a tree-covered summit then descend into a saddle. Running up out of the saddle participants are greeted by expansive views in all directions as they reach the summit and finish line.

Runners can view Brockway Mtn, Mt. Houghton, Mt. Bohemia, Lake Medora, the Gratiot Ridge, Mt Horace Greeley, Eagle Harbor, and the vast expanse of Lake Superior. Runners jog back down to Eagle Harbor and can take a dip in Lake Superior.
