Updated November 3, 2014

2014 National Marathon Performance Rankings

Rhiannon Johns, formerly from Sault Ste Marie, has the 7th fastest female marathon time for 2014. On February 16, she ran 2:40:13 in the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham where she attends the University of Alabama. She also holds position 14 with a 2:47:11 finish in the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon on May 25. This places Johns unofficially in position 36 in the all times rankings for Canadian females in the marathon.

Christine Thomas, from Echo Bay, has been knocked off the top 100 list. Her time of 3:09:25 set in the Boston Marathon on April 21 would probably have her on the list under the old rankings where runners could hold only 1 place on the list. Now the list ranks the top performances where all the top performances are listed and many of the top runners ran multiple marathons in 2014. For example, Lanni Marchant holds the top 3 positions.

In the age group rankings for females 20-29, Johns holds postions 4 and 7.

2014 National Half Marathon Performance Rankings

Rhiannon Johns is tied in position 19 with a 1:17:36 finish in the Scotiabank Montreal Half Marathon on April 27.

In the age group rankings for females 20-29, Johns is tied in position 8.

The above rankings are according to the Marathon Canada website.
